The sun is shining, and I just felt like singing something by The Beach Boys today.

Canadian singer/songwriter, Daniel Powter, first recorded this song in 2002 but was unable to find a label to release it. It was first used in a French Coca Cola Christmas TV ad in 2004 & was officially released in 2005 when the CEO of Warner Bros. Records heard a demo and offered Powter a contract. The song charted in the top 5 in over 10 countries and in the top 10 in over 30 charts worldwide. It was the most played song on European radio, #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100, Adult Top 40, Adult Contemporary charts & was certified 3X Platinum. It was the first song ever to sell 2 million digital copies in the US and was the Billboard most popular song of 2006. Knockin' the dust off the old vocals on "Red Dirt Road" by Brooks & Dunn. Realized half way through I didn't know some of the song as well as I'd hoped, but it's a song I used to enjoy when it came on the radio. Hope you enjoy it too!

I have no business even attempting this song. I can practice as much as I want and still wouldn't get some verses but come on...Adam Levine sings this😃 I have always liked this song so had to do it. You should give a thumbs up and subscribe to represent an "A" for effort. Nah.....do it for the buzz points. 😎

⁣If you are watching these songs in order this is number two of seven that I did today. Very addicting. Might of been a little brave on this one lol but it's a great song and had to try it again. Definitely wasn't easy so I apologize for any ear bleeding 😁. Don't forget to like and subscribe and get those extra Buzz Points.

A cool song from the country band Sawyer Brown that really makes you feel something. Unfortunately I tried this one a couple times and the audio track cuts off at this spot every time.

"Ships" was sung by Barry Manilow & written by Ian Hunter.
Hunter & his father often butted heads while he was growing up & it wasn't until he was older that he started to see things from his dad's perspective. So "Ships" was a coming to terms with, & an appreciation of Ian's dad, Walter Patterson. Ian's father died 18 months after the song was released & he said goodbye on Blackpool beach where they had watched "the dogs play around on the sand" (in earlier years).

Had I known BTO did a version called "Takin' Care of Christmas" I could have sang that version for all you last minute Christmas shoppers. This song ⁣would become one of BTO's most enduring and well-known songs. "Takin' Care of Business" spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, longer than any other BTO single.

Originally done by the Kinks here is Van Halen's cover version which was released in 1978 and peaked at 36th on the Billboard Hot 100. Definitely one of my favorite bands in the eighties. Last song I'm doing on my birthday so please hit "like" and subscribe as it would make a great birthday gift. Belated birthday likes and a subcribe will still be very much appreciated if you miss listening to it on the actual day. 😂😂😎

Good song from the early days of Matchbox Twenty. This one took a real "Push" from the old vocals to try to hit some of those notes. Gave it my best shot and hope you enjoy it!

This song was recorded in 1976 by the Moments as WE DON"T CRY OUT LOUD under the stewardship of the great Sylvia Robinson. Melissa Manchester imagined doing this song in a similarly sleepy style and was "surprised by the bombastic arrangement " awaiting her in the studio.
I added the the tats with "CryBaby" to my avatar for posterity!😂

My entry for the Song Contest. Looking for the "participation ribbon"-everyone wins. What genre is this song? It is stated as a Ballad, Traditional Pop, Soft Rock, blend of country/soul/folk/jazz with a R&B hook and it's also a Classic. It has made so many charts and is in multiple halls of fame and greatest of all time lists it blows my mind. To me that says "other" as a single category is too confining lol but I'll let you, the listener, decide. Leave a comment and tell me what category you think. I'm a huge fan of Otis Redding, and for me it doesn't get much better than his voice. He was one of those artists gone way too soon. I feel like we'd know 30+ more hits from him, if he'd just had more time.

Here I go again. Singing songs that are beyond my vocal skills 😂 Heard this for the first time, liked it & had to try it. Released in 2008, this R&B song also incorporates a heavy dance-pop element. It peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed in the top 10 for 35 weeks, It was certified double platinum, selling 3 million downloads. Reached #3 on the Adult Contemporary, #4 on Mainstream Top 40 and was her 2nd single to top the Dance Club Songs.
