"At Seventeen" is a song by American singer-songwriter Janis Ianfrom her seventh studio album Between the Lines. Columbia released it in July 1975 as the album's second single. Ian wrote the lyrics on the basis of a New York Times article and used a samba instrumental, and Brooks Arthur produced the final version. A pop and soft rock ballad, the song is about a social outcast in high school. Critics have regarded "At Seventeen" as a type of anthem. Despite her initial reluctance to perform the single live, Ian promoted it at various appearances and it has been included on compilation and live albums.
"Eleanor Rigby" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1966 album Revolver. It was also issued on a double A-side single, paired with "Yellow Submarine". Credited to the Lennon–McCartneysongwriting partnership, the song is one of only a few in which John Lennon and Paul McCartney later disputed primary authorship.[3]Eyewitness testimony from several independent sources, including George Martin and Pete Shotton, supports McCartney's claim to authorship.

It's a sad boy day. But we love Adele! Check out my cover this week!
Lot's to say about this song. The lyrics are a bit outdated & Bee Mee is venturing in to new frontiers so I changed a line in the song. Also, there are long music interludes so I added some extra sound effects. I don't remember the song having a Jamaican reggae/rap portion either...I did my best lol. Released on the band's debut album in 1988, it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making the group the only British artist to have a #1 hit in the US while never charting in the UK. The song was a reflection of living in the 80's with yuppies getting rich quick, fear of the Cold War & AIDS. The "Ronnie" in the song was a reference to Ronald Reagan. The video was banned from British Television & The Florida Sun Sentinel claimed it was due to sexism but the band said that it was "designed to make fun of the overly sexist promo videos of the era". It was the most played song on European radio, #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Pop 100, Adult Top 40, Adult Contemporary charts & was certified 3X Platinum. It was the first song ever to sell 2 million digital copies in the US and was the Billboard most popular song of 2006.
