Here is my version of the Beatles - "Let it Be" for the Bee Mee / StoryFire Karaoke Event contest. Currently on a little holiday, without much privacy to record this. So that is my daughter clapping and cheering in the background at the end, which put a big smile on my face ❤😊

Sang this song to support the current contest. First of all, kind of difficult for someone whose voice is naturally deeper, to sing like Paul McCartney and secondly this song is actually harder than I thought so I could only practice so many times before my vocal cords were done for, so hopefully I have the volumes set ok. Make sure you listen to the very end of the song and you will understand ha ha ha. One of the all time great tunes from Elton John. Definitely outside of my typical vocal range, but it was fun giving it a shot! There's not much better than the scene from the movie "Almost Famous" where the band, along with Penny Lane and the kid journalist, sing this tune on the bus! Good times!

My entry for the Song Contest. Looking for the "participation ribbon"-everyone wins. What genre is this song? It is stated as a Ballad, Traditional Pop, Soft Rock, blend of country/soul/folk/jazz with a R&B hook and it's also a Classic. It has made so many charts and is in multiple halls of fame and greatest of all time lists it blows my mind. To me that says "other" as a single category is too confining lol but I'll let you, the listener, decide. Leave a comment and tell me what category you think. Not an easy song to sing but love the classic rock music so I sang it anyway. I believe @Tappet2 was the first to sing it on Bee Mee.There are several versions of this song, going as far back as 1933 (maybe earlier) when it was used as a work song but it is most associated with Ram Jam. Released by them in 1979, it was a hit in several countries and used in many movie and TV shows including "Family Guy". Like, comment & subscribe for your Buzz Points. ⁣On September 20, 1973, at the height of his popularity and the day before the lead single to his fifth album "I Got a Name " was released, Croce and five others died in a plane crash. His music continued to chart throughout the 1970s following his death. Croce's wife and early songwriting partner Ingrid, continued to write and record after his death, and their son A. J. Croce, became a singer-songwriter in the 1990s.

Lots of cool info about this song so keep reading. Guitarist, Canadian artist, Tom Cochrane, wrote the song over concern for the resurgence of anti-semitism in the 1970's. He recorded the first demo on the evening of John Lennon's murder (RIP). The single was released in 1981 despite advice from the record label that it wasn't commercial enough. It reached #11 on the rock radio airplay chart in Billboard and won a SOCAN Classic Award (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) in 2009. It was re-recorded in 1997 and was #1 for 4 weeks on the RPM Top 100 Chart. The song has been used in several movies and TV shows such as Miami Vice. There is so much more that I could write but check it out on Wikipedia if you want more info. Make sure you like, comment & subscribe for your Buzz Points. For all you fans of the seventies The Who needs no explanation. For the rest of you they were one of the biggest bands of their time. This song came out in 1975 and was in the top 10 for the UK Singles chart and as high as #1 on other charts. It was #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. The lyrics are heavy in sexual double entendres and was originally recorded for a Who television special where the band were to be surrounded by 100 topless women playing the accordian (aka squeezebox). If that doesn't deserve a like, comment and subscribe...I don't know what does. 😎

I'm first to admit, I fumbled through the verse lyrics :) But this is one of those classic chorus' that is so fun to sing along with. I think there is an SNL skit where they are all sitting in a bar rambling on about something, but they all stop and sing each chorus together every time it comes on. Classic!

So, we were challenged to have a little contest to sing Proud Mary before Thursday's AMA. We had a choice of doing the CCR or Ike & Tina Turner version. Well, for me, I considered a third version......the Skee Version. Did this for fun so have fun as I could only do one take and destroyed my vocal chords so no re-do's. I was originally going to make this video private, however, others seemed to have liked it so I will leave it public. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed it and wanted me to leave it up. 😎

Here is another fun Classic Rock-Folk song by Jim Croce (RIP) so take a trip back to 8-track days and sing along. This song was released in 1973 which spent 2 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was ranked the #2 song of the year. Jim had a lot of great songs but this was his only #1 single and was nominated for two Grammy Awards. I lost my voice briefly a couple times recording this so I guess the mic is getting turned off for the night. Sing along, have fun and don't forget to like, comment and subscribe. 😎
