Lots of cool info about this song so keep reading. Guitarist, Canadian artist, Tom Cochrane, wrote the song over concern for the resurgence of anti-semitism in the 1970's. He recorded the first demo on the evening of John Lennon's murder (RIP). The single was released in 1981 despite advice from the record label that it wasn't commercial enough. It reached #11 on the rock radio airplay chart in Billboard and won a SOCAN Classic Award (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) in 2009. It was re-recorded in 1997 and was #1 for 4 weeks on the RPM Top 100 Chart. The song has been used in several movies and TV shows such as Miami Vice. There is so much more that I could write but check it out on Wikipedia if you want more info. Make sure you like, comment & subscribe for your Buzz Points. Kind of thought you might like this. Is that a Gene Simmons tattoo on my Avatar's right cheek?
