One of my all time fav Willie Nelson songs. A pretty song that, for me, makes me reminisce about family and friends that have passed on.

Glory to God! What a beautiful name it is!

The cover photo is a picture I took while visiting the botanical gardens with my husband. Isn't it beautiful?

Bit out of practice & short on lung capacity thanks to a round with bronchitis but the show must go on ha ha ha. Released in 2003, this song was very popular. It ranked #22 on the Billboard Hot 100, Toby Keith's highest ranking song at the time & it peaked at #1 on Billboard Hot Country charts for six weeks. It was Toby Keith's 11th #1 single, Willie Nelson's 23rd and was certified platinum. Being the 80th anniversary of D-Day, I dedicate this song to all those around the world, throughout human history that have fought for freedom, justice & democracy. Not necessarily a simple song by Simple Minds which was their biggest hit and it reached Number 1 in North America. Sure is a lot of "La La La La's" at the end lol. Was also used in an iconic 80's movie, "The Breakfast Club". Which character were you? Coincidently this song came out the year I graduated and I had moved from an Anthony Michael Hall to a cross between Emelio Estevez and Judd Hirsch. Give a big thumbs up for a great song.

I've always loved this classic country tune. This is Waylon's version but I believe it was originally written and performed by Don Williams.

I knew ahead of time this was a long song but forgot that it is almost constant singing. Every time I thought there might be a short break to switch up the dance steps....nope and panicked to get back to the lyrics 😎. I could have maybe done Madonna's version which is about half as long but.......no way Jose!

I have never been good at singing this song but I always give it a try because it is such a beautiful song. I tried several different song versions and had to adjust both my input and output volume many, many times. I think this was around my 12th attempt before I finally got the sound settings relatively decent so this is as good as it's gonna get from me. I
would appreciate a "like" despite it's imperfections and hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. ✌❤

The song is believed to originate when women working in fields used to take their babies along to work and tie their cradles to the branches of the trees so that the wind could rock them to sleep.

I used to listen to this song on Yacht Rock radio.
"Sailing" is a 1979 soft rock song written and recorded by American artist Christopher Cross.
Cross has said in interviews that the song's inspiration was his friendship with an older friend from his high school, Al Glasscock, who would take him sailing as a teenager, just to get away from the trials and tribulations of being a teenager.
Glasscock functioned as a surrogate older brother during a tough time for Cross emotionally. Although Cross lost touch with Glasscock, The Howard Stern Show in April 1995 reunited the two after 28 years. Cross acknowledged on the show that his sailing trips with Glasscock had been the inspiration for the song. After that reunion, Cross sent Glasscock a copy of the platinum record he earned for selling more than five million copies of "Sailing."

⁣"Happy Trails" is a song by Roy Rogers and his wife Dale Evans, known as the theme song for the 1940s and 1950s radio program and the 1950s television show in which they starred. It was written by Evans and always sung by the duo over the end credits of those programs.
The song was released in 1952 as a 78 RPM and 45 RPM by Rogers and Evans with the Whippoorwills and Orchestra, on RCA Victor Records. It was re-issued in 1957 as a 45 RPM record on RCA Victor/Bluebird. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time!

"You're So Vain" is a song written and performed by American singer and songwriter Carly Simon and released in November 1972.
Mick Jagger contributed uncredited backing vocals for the song. When asked how this collaboration occurred, Simon said:
He happened to call at the studio. … I said "We're doing some backup vocals on a song of mine, why don't you come down and sing with us?"

This is one of those heartfelt songs about life in the Military and getting Letters from home. It pretty much brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear it, and it's even more challenging to sing it all the way through. Hope you enjoy it, if you've never heard this song before.

Love Will Keep Us Together" is a song written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield. It was first recorded by Sedaka in 1973. The brother-sister duo Mac and Katie Kissoon also recorded a version in 1973. American pop duo Captain & Tennille covered it in 1975, with instrumental backing almost entirely by “Captain” Daryl Dragon, with the exception of drums played by Hal Blaine; their version became a worldwide hit. "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves" is a song by American singer and actress Cher from her 1971 seventh studio album Chér (eventually reissued under the title Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves). Kapp Records, a division of MCA Records, released it as the album's lead single on September 1, 1971. The song was written by Bob Stone, and produced by Snuff Garrett. Since Sonny Bono's first attempts at reviving Cher's recording career had been unsuccessful, the record company recruited Garrett as her producer and he chose Stone to write a song specifically for Cher, in order to cater to an adult audience.
