⁣"You Can Do Magic" is a song by singer-songwriter Russ Ballard that was recorded as a 1982 single by folk rock duo America from their album View from the Ground.
The music video for this song opens up with a gloved hand throwing glitter, which then pixelates into the band performing the song, amidst a cloudy background. Some shots feature a set of hands flipping cards (referencing the classic magic trick). On 17 July 2019, the video was officially uploaded on YouTube.

If there is a single moment that is most widely known in the canon of Elton live performances, this may well be it! Elton appearing as Donald Duck during his Central Park performance on September 13th 1980 in New York. After struggling to get the Bob Mackie costume on backstage, Elton sits down on his piano bench for the first time in the outfit and lets out a laugh as he realizes the padding won't allow him to stay on the bench or easily work the foot pedals. LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Elton got hit in the face with an empty wine bottle, thrown by an enebriated fan. Later, he said, "It was my own fault really. Someone tried to warn me, but I ignored it: 'Duck!' they yelled" Ultimately, he continued performing like a champ and it didn't stop him from turning out a memorable rendition of "Your Song".

I used to listen to this song on Yacht Rock radio.
"Sailing" is a 1979 soft rock song written and recorded by American artist Christopher Cross.
Cross has said in interviews that the song's inspiration was his friendship with an older friend from his high school, Al Glasscock, who would take him sailing as a teenager, just to get away from the trials and tribulations of being a teenager.
Glasscock functioned as a surrogate older brother during a tough time for Cross emotionally. Although Cross lost touch with Glasscock, The Howard Stern Show in April 1995 reunited the two after 28 years. Cross acknowledged on the show that his sailing trips with Glasscock had been the inspiration for the song. After that reunion, Cross sent Glasscock a copy of the platinum record he earned for selling more than five million copies of "Sailing."

Have always been a Vice Gill fan and he really has a unique voice for country music. This song was released in 1993 and it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart and stayed on the chart for 20 weeks. The video has a cameo of country legend, George Jones, on a John Deere riding mower echoing Jones' life when he would ride the mower for beer runs because his wife wouldn't let him drive. Requested by Sonny Walkman. Twisted Sister released this song in 1984 and I would guess that most people have sang along to this song. Shockingly, even my mother liked Twisted Sister. The song reached #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, was certified Gold in 2009, ranked 47th on the 100 Greatest Singles of the 80's, #21 on VH1's Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80's and was the band's biggest hit & only top 40 single. It would be amazing to sing this song along with a wonderful female singer for the duet part of it. It's definitely a hauntingly sad, but beautiful song. You'll find that this one cuts off part way through the last chorus. I tried it a couple times and there must be a glitch in the track as it stops there each time. But I wanted to upload it anyway, as it's such a pretty song.

This was a request I got from Sonny Walkman. Not sure if he was trying to give me a hard song but little did he know that this might have been the first 45 rpm record I ever bought. Devo, a New Wave, Synth Pop band released this song in 1980. Warner Bros. did not expect this song to be a success but it became an international hit, charted in several countries & peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. The video was also a hit on MTV. When I was growing up I had a neighbor that was in the same grade as me and her father was a gigantic Elvis fan. Right after I graduated her brother was in an Elvis, Elvis, Elvis show which consisted of 3 singers all imitating Elvis at different stages in his life. Her bother was the young Elvis and I bought a ticket to go watch the performance. It was so much fun and all three of the performers did an awesome job impersonating Elvis both in sound and looks. Anyway, here is my entry for the Bee Mee competition which I only entered for the participation ribbon.....everyone wins!! 😎

The lyric Stevie Nicks hates in Fleetwood Mac’s β€˜Go Your Own Way’
Fleetwood Mac remain one of the most beloved bands of the classic rock era. The former couple of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham found that while any break-up is difficult, it’s even harder when you remain in a band with your former lover.

Both artists wrote about the end of the relationship from their perspectives with devastating veracity.
While Nicks was the band’s principle songwriter, Buckingham also threw in his own barbs every so often and Nicks was particularly hurt by his creation, β€˜Go Your Own Way’.

Nicks wrote about the breakdown of the relationship in β€˜Silver Springs’, which she later said was penned with the intention of haunting Buckingham.
Meanwhile, Buckingham penned β€˜Go Your Own Way’, which greatly upset Nicks as it alluded to her promiscuousness. β€œI very much resented him telling the world that β€˜packing up, shacking up’ with different men was all I wanted to do. He knew it wasn’t true. It was just an angry thing that he said,” she told Rolling Stone (via Society of Rock).
Stevie Nicks is my top Pandora station! I was dead center, 3rd row, for her performance in concert with Lindsay Buckingham and Christine Mcvie' in Portland, Oregon before Mcvie' passed away in 2022.

Noticed that oldmanchu hasn't been singing much? Find out why by listening to this parody of this song by the Romantics. The actual song was released in 1979 and was a moderate success. It wasn't until the late 80's when the song was licensed for use in TV commercials for ads like Budweiser beer that it became one of the most popular song anthems of all time. It reached #49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was in the top 10 charts in many different countries. Like, comment & subscribe for your Buzz Points.
