English-Canadian singer, Nick Gilder, released this song in 1978. It went #1 in Canada & the US Billboard Hot 100 taking a record 21 weeks to reach the top. He had also had a previous #1 with "Roxy Roller" as the lead singer of "Sweeney Todd". He won 2 Juno Awards, a Peoples Choice Award & this song went Platinum.
