War is a Latin Rock crossover band that fuses funk, soul, rhythm & blues, rock, jazz and other genres while the influence of Latin music is evident in the percussive beats and the use of horns. Released in 1975 it reached #1 on The Billboard R&B Singles chart, #1 on the US Hot Soul Singles, #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, was inducted in to the Grammy Hall of Fame and was the theme song for the TV series "George Lopez". Nu metal band, Korn did a cover in 1996. I could go on but who would have guessed such a simple song would be such a massive hit.
