Attention Bee Mee community. We are very close to the 1000 song milestone. We need everyone to join our "Music Convoy". So, pick a song and put the hammer down so that we get there by the end of the month. I loved this movie when I was a kid. Despite being a novelty song, it reached #1 on both country and pop charts. Rolling Stone magazine included it in its "100 Greatest Songs of All Time". Leave a comment if you remember the movie. This song was released in 1987 for the movie soundtrack for "Beverly Hills Cop II" starring Eddie Murphy. It reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Album Rock Tracks chart and the RPM 100 Singles chart. It was nominated for both an Academy and Golden Globe Award for best original song but lost to "The Time of My Life" from the movie Dirty Dancing for both awards. I first heard this song when it was sung by the Dave Matthews Band. It's just a good old story telling tune!

I listened to a lot of Counting Crows growing up. Great band! Didn't know this one as well as I thought, so it got a bit away from me at the end. But it's a fun song for sure!

Nobody panic! I'm not having a stroke in this video. I raised my set up so I can stand and sing and I guess I was grooving a little too fast lol. English-Canadian singer, Nick Gilder, released this song in 1978. It went #1 in Canada & the US Billboard Hot 100 taking a record 21 weeks to reach the top. He had also had a previous #1 with "Roxy Roller" as the lead singer of "Sweeney Todd". He won 2 Juno Awards, a Peoples Choice Award & this song went Platinum. I grew up a big Bonnie Raitt fan. Lots of listening to her tapes and CD's at the dinner or card table with family. Always thought this song could be a sweet duet :)
